More Helpful Resources
When feeling overwhelmed or facing a non-emergency crisis, here are some things that can help:
- Seek help from your environment – this can be speaking to your loved ones, someone you trust, or a mental health professional.
- Reach out to trained volunteers – sometimes it can be difficult talking about our mental health with people who know us. Hong Kong has a number of hotlines listed above of both professionals and trained volunteers to help you get the support you may be needing.
- Try some self-soothing techniques – this can be techniques such as the Butterfly Hug technique, Square Breathing technique, mindfulness meditation (a good resource for guided meditations), the Water technique as well as the 5-4-3-2-1 technique. You can also check our Articles page where we discuss varying topics, tools, and techniques that may help you.
