Dolly Nawalkha
Counsellor
Dolly Nawalkha, is a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health counsellor who believes that therapy is a deeply personal journey, and a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn't resonate with the complexities of individual experiences. In the initial session, the focus will be on truly understanding your reasons for seeking support, the specific challenges you're navigating, and any roadblocks you've encountered along the way.
Her practice includes working with adults and couples, and she has a specialised focus on supporting teenagers and parents. In addition to individual counselling, Dolly closely works with parents, providing them with necessary support and guidance to navigate their children's emotional well-being, through programs like SPACE and ASUP.
Dolly is experienced in addressing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, self-esteem challenges, mild trauma, social and behavioural challenges. Her therapeutic approach is highly personalised, with a treatment plan tailored to align with the client's unique goals and personality. Drawing from a diverse range of evidence-based modalities, she skilfully integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Arts-Based Therapy (ABT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT).
At Inner Compass, she regularly leads workshops for teenagers and adults. These include sessions focused on developing skills to manage anxiety and stress, foster emotion regulation and frustration tolerance skills and build relationships through arts-based therapy, as well as weekly art therapy workshops specifically for adults. Additionally, she organises tailored arts-based corporate workshops.
